Red Hot Green House is an art work about light, sustainability, technology and climate change which Marina created for e-Luminate Cambridge Festival. This installation was placed between the Senate House and King’s College, it was sponsored by Polysolar and Philips UK and it was made in collaboration with senior research scientist Dr Matthieu Visser.

The photovoltaics panels in the glasshouse provided electricity to power LED bulbs installed inside the glasshouse. These were connected to a programme which turned the lights from blue to red, following a global warming pattern. The algorithm that determines the colour conditions is unknown to the visitor, pointing at uncertainties about factors controlling climate change.
