Collider

Collider is a photographic series composition in which two real life photographs have been 'inserted' in juxtaposition to create tension and dialogue in the image. At a formal level, these images are aided by a thorough investigation of the rectangle and the circle, in compositions that balance colour and depth of field. However, these careful aesthetic constructions are in contradiction with the elements of the images; a child playing with what seems very sophisticated machinery. This contradiction creates a 'bite' that engages the viewer.

This group of works hopes to raise questions about the limits of understanding, both in science and in human development, and it hopes to address the problematic of photography as a carrier of the real.
